teapod is located in historic Shad
Thames - on the south side of the river just 200 yards east of Tower
Bridge.
In years gone by, tea and spice clippers would dock at these warehouses
with their exotic cargoes from the far ends of the world.
But it was also a desperately poor and cruel place, immortalised as the
home of Bill Sykes in Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist.
Shad Thames is on the Thames River Walk and as well as Tower Bridge and
the Tower of London there are a host of nearby attractions - the Tate
Modern, the Design Museum, Borough Market and London Dungeon to name a
few.
